Creating a new site
Step-by-step walkthrough of the wizard used to set up a new site or project in Tuurbo AI.
Overview
When you add a new site to a workspace, Tuurbo AI guides you through a multi-step setup wizard. It collects everything needed to start working on your site: your brand, your product catalog or content platform, any reference documents, which optimization modules to enable, your plan, billing details, and finally how to install Tuurbo on your site.
If this is your very first time using Tuurbo, you may also be asked a couple of quick onboarding questions (your main goal and some profiling information) before you reach this wizard.
What you can do
- Set up a brand-new site end to end, from connecting your store to activating your plan.
- Choose whether to connect a real CMS/ecommerce platform or simply import your catalog from a CSV file.
- Select which optimization modules you want active from day one.
- Pick a monthly or annual credit plan, apply a coupon if you have one, and complete checkout.
- Get clear installation instructions for your specific platform at the end.
Before you start: Goal and Profiling
The first time you sign in, Tuurbo may ask:
- Goal: your main objective (for example, increasing traffic or increasing sales). Select the option that best matches what you want to achieve.
- Profiling: a short set of questions about your business (such as industry, role, company size) to tailor recommendations.
These steps only need to be completed once, then you move on to creating your workspace and site.
Step-by-step: the new site wizard
- Start the wizard: from the Websites page, click Add site.
- Brand: enter your site's name and URL. Tuurbo analyzes your site automatically (you'll see a short "Analyzing..." animation) and extracts basic branding such as colors. Choose your site type: ecommerce, showcase, news, aggregator, marketplace, or non-profit.
- Connect your platform: choose to either connect a real CMS/ecommerce platform (Shopify, PrestaShop, WordPress, WooCommerce, Wix, etc.) using the usual connection flow, or import your product catalog manually from a CSV file. If you import a CSV, Tuurbo automatically recognizes common columns such as title, description, meta title/description, tags, product type, image and alt text, and SKU/ID.
- Knowledge: optionally upload reference documents (brand guidelines, catalogs, FAQs, etc.) to give the AI more context. This step can be skipped and completed later.
- Optimizations: choose which SEO and optimization modules to activate for your site.
- Plan: choose a monthly or annual credit tier. Review the features included in each tier, and enter a coupon code if you have one.
- Billing: fill in your billing details and confirm. This creates a secure checkout session where you complete payment.
- Installation: follow the instructions shown to install the Tuurbo script or plugin on your site.
- Once installation is confirmed, you're taken to your new site's Dashboard.
The wizard saves your progress as you go and marks each step complete. If you try to leave with unsaved progress, Tuurbo will warn you so you don't lose your work by accident.
Option explanations
| Step | What it determines |
|---|---|
| Brand | Your site's identity, name, URL and general type, used across the product for context. |

| Knowledge | Extra context documents that improve AI answers and generated content. |
| Optimizations | Which SEO features are turned on for your site from the start. |
| Plan | Your monthly AI credit allowance and price. |
| Billing | Payment details and checkout. |
| Installation | How Tuurbo's script/plugin gets embedded on your live site. |
Tips
- You don't need a real CMS connection to get started; a CSV import is enough to explore Tuurbo, and you can connect a live platform later from Connectors.
- Have your billing details ready before reaching the Billing step to avoid delays.
- If you're unsure which optimization modules to enable, you can start with the defaults and adjust them later from their respective sections.
Limits
- The URL you enter for your site is validated, and certain domains are blocked from being added.
- Exiting the wizard mid-way keeps your saved progress, but some steps may need to be revisited to confirm details are still accurate (for example if you changed your CMS choice).
Common problems
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| The wizard warns me about unsaved progress when I try to leave | Save or complete the current step before navigating away, or confirm the exit if you intend to discard changes. |
| My site URL is rejected | Check that it is a complete, valid, and publicly reachable web address; some domains cannot be added. |
| Checkout doesn't complete | Verify your billing details are complete and try again; if the problem persists, contact support. |
| I don't see my platform in the connection options | Use the CSV import option for now, or check Supported ecommerce platforms for availability. |
