Performance setup: CDN, DNS & SSL
Step-by-step wizard to connect your domain to Tuurbo's performance layer: DNS, CDN and SSL.
What is the Performance setup
Before you can see full Performance metrics and benefit from Tuurbo's speed improvements, your domain needs to be connected to Tuurbo's performance layer. This is done through a guided setup that walks you through DNS configuration, activates the content delivery network (CDN), and issues the SSL security certificate for your domain.
What you can do
- Start the setup from the Performance page.
- Follow guided instructions to configure your domain's DNS records.
- Move through the setup wizard step by step (DNS, then CDN and SSL).
- Verify that your DNS changes have propagated correctly.
Starting the setup
- Open Performance from the side menu.
- If your site is not yet configured, click Setup to begin.
- You will land on the setup page with instructions on how to point your domain's DNS to Tuurbo's service.
Going through the wizard
The setup wizard proceeds in steps, starting with DNS:
- DNS step: you are shown the DNS records you need to add or change with your domain provider (for example your hosting company or domain registrar). Copy each record exactly as shown.
- Verification: Tuurbo automatically checks whether your DNS changes have propagated. This can take some time depending on your provider, sometimes up to a few hours.
- Next steps (CDN and SSL): once DNS is confirmed, the wizard continues to activate the CDN and issue the SSL certificate for your domain.
- Final verification and activation: the wizard confirms everything is working and your site is now served through Tuurbo's performance layer.
Keep the setup page open (or come back to it later) while DNS propagates; you do not need to redo the steps, the wizard will pick up where you left off.
Tips
- Make the DNS changes with the person or team who manages your domain if you are not familiar with your provider's control panel.
- DNS propagation is not instant: it can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.
- Double-check that you copied DNS record values exactly, including any trailing characters, to avoid verification failures.
- If you use a CMS or platform selector during setup (for example WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Magento), choosing the right one can simplify the instructions shown to you.
Limits and things to know
- Advanced CDN capabilities may depend on your plan; some accounts have access to an enhanced CDN tier as an add-on.
- Until DNS propagation completes and the SSL certificate is issued, some Performance metrics and CDN benefits will not yet be available.
- If you change domain providers or update DNS records later for other reasons, you may need to re-verify the Tuurbo records are still in place.
Common problems
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| DNS verification keeps failing | Confirm the records were entered exactly as shown, with no typos or extra spaces, and give propagation more time. |
| SSL certificate is not issuing | This usually depends on DNS being fully propagated first; wait and check again. |
| I do not know how to access my domain's DNS settings | Contact whoever manages your domain, such as your hosting provider or IT team. |
| The wizard seems stuck on one step | Refresh the page; verification runs automatically and may just need more time to complete. |
