Credit cost per action
How many AI credits each Tuurbo AI action uses, so you can plan usage and avoid surprises.
Why credits matter
Every time Tuurbo AI writes, generates or answers something for you, it uses a small number of AI credits from your plan's monthly (or annual) allowance. Knowing what each action costs helps you plan your work and get the most value from your credits.
Credits are only used for actions that create or rewrite content with AI. Browsing your dashboard, reading reports and reviewing existing content never uses credits.
What you can do
- See exactly how many credits an action will use before you confirm it.
- Plan bulk operations (like regenerating many products at once) around your remaining balance.
- Understand which parts of Tuurbo AI are "free to explore" and which consume credits.
Credit cost table
| Action | Credit cost |
|---|---|
| Generate or regenerate a product description | 5 credits |
| Generate an AI product image | 5 credits |
| Auto-fill a single product attribute | 1 credit |
| Send a message to the AI Consultant (chat) | 1 credit |
| Bulk regeneration of multiple products | Cost shown on screen before you confirm (multiplies per item) |
For bulk actions, Tuurbo AI always shows you the estimated total credit cost on the confirmation button or dialog before anything is generated, so you never spend credits by accident.
How to check your credit cost before an action
- Open the section where you want to generate content (for example Ecommerce for product descriptions and images).
- Select the product or attribute you want to generate.
- Look at the button or dialog: it will show the credit cost for that specific action.
- Confirm only if you are happy with the cost and your remaining balance.
How to check your remaining credits
- Go to your site's Dashboard.
- Look at the credits banner near the top of the page.
- Hover over the progress bar to see a breakdown: Total, Used and Remaining.
- If you are running low, click the upgrade button in the banner to add more credits or move to a bigger plan.
Tips
- Use the AI Consultant chat for planning and questions; it only costs 1 credit per message, which is the cheapest way to explore ideas before committing to a generation.
- Before running a bulk regeneration, check your remaining balance first so you don't run out halfway through a batch.
- If your account is on an unlimited credits arrangement, the dashboard will show an infinity icon instead of a countdown.
Common problems
I generated content but I'm not sure how many credits it used. Check the credits banner on the Dashboard right after the action: the "Used" figure updates as soon as the generation completes.
The cost shown for bulk regeneration seems different from the single-item cost. Bulk actions show a total for all selected items, not a per-item cost. Divide by the number of items to check the per-item rate.
I ran out of credits mid-task. Generations already completed are not rolled back. You can top up your credits or upgrade your plan from the Dashboard credits banner to continue.
Why costs can feel different from what you expected
Some actions that look similar can have different costs. A single product description costs the same as a single product image (5 credits each), while filling in one attribute or sending one chat message costs much less (1 credit each). This is because generating a full description or an image involves more work behind the scenes than filling a short field or answering a question.
Planning a larger project
If you are about to update many products at once, it helps to estimate the cost before you start:
- Count how many products you plan to update, and which fields (description, image, attributes).
- Multiply the number of products by the credit cost of each action you plan to run.
- Compare the total with your remaining credit balance shown on the Dashboard.
- If the total is higher than your balance, either reduce the batch size, wait for your next credit refresh, or top up your credits.
Tuurbo AI will still show you the live estimated cost for bulk actions on the confirmation screen, so this manual estimate is just to help you plan ahead, not something you need to calculate precisely yourself.
