Product editing, score & publishing
Using the product edit panel, understanding Product Score, bulk editing multiple products, and publishing or restoring content.
What you can do
- Open a single product and edit its title, description, attributes, price, images and publication status in detail.
- Check a product's quality score and get guided suggestions to improve it.
- Edit several products at once with bulk editing.
- Publish updated content to your connected store, or restore a previous version.
Editing a single product
- From the Ecommerce product table, click a product to open its edit panel.
- Update any field manually: title, description, attributes, price, or images.
- Alternatively, start an AI generation focused only on this product (see AI product content generation).
- Check the Product Score summary and badge to see the product's quality at a glance.
- Save your changes, or use Restore to bring back the previous version of the content if you're not happy with a recent AI generation.
- Close the panel when you're done.
You can also mark a product as reviewed or as needing further review, which helps you keep track of which items in a large catalog have already been checked.
Product Score
Product Score measures how complete and well-optimised a product listing is, looking at things like title, description, images, attributes and price. You'll see it both inside the product edit panel and as a standalone tool.
- Open a product to see its current score.
- If the score suggests improvements, use the guided optimisation to apply them.
- Save the changes.
Re-running the score check itself does not use any AI credits. However, if the guided optimisation goes on to actually rewrite or regenerate content, that follows the normal generation credit costs (5 credits for a description, 5 for an image, 1 for an attribute).
Depending on your plan, the automatic optimisation may require an upgrade; if so, you'll see an upgrade prompt explaining what's needed. The exact plan thresholds are shown at that point rather than fixed numbers here.
Bulk editing multiple products
- Select several products in the product table using the checkboxes.
- Open the bulk edit action.
- Choose the common fields you want to change (for example, price, category, attributes, or publication status) and set the new values.
- Confirm to apply the change to every selected product.
- If you change your mind right after applying, use the on-screen undo option to reverse the action.
Publishing and restoring
- Publish: sends your edited or AI-generated content to your connected store, making it live (or marks it as ready to go live, depending on your setup).
- Restore: brings back the version of a product's content that existed before your most recent AI generation or edit, in case you want to undo a change.
Both actions are available from the product row in the table or from within the edit panel.
Tips
- Use Product Score as a quick way to spot which products need attention before running a full AI generation pass.
- Bulk edit is best for changes that apply identically across many products (like a category or a publication status); use single-product editing for anything that needs individual attention.
- Always review AI-generated content before publishing it to your live store, especially for the first few products.
- Restore is your safety net: use it if a generation or edit didn't turn out the way you wanted.
Common problems
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Changes don't appear on the live store after publishing | Confirm your store connection is active (see Ecommerce overview); reconnect if it shows an error. |
| Product Score doesn't improve after optimisation | The optimisation may require an upgrade on your current plan; check for an upgrade prompt. |
| Bulk edit applied the wrong value to some products | Use the undo option immediately after the action if it's still available, or edit the affected products individually to correct them. |
| Can't find the previous version of a product | Use Restore from the product's row or edit panel; it brings back the version saved before the last change. |
